Marine’s bucket list for dying dog who saved his life

A US marine veteran has compiled a bucket list for his bomb-detection Labrador Cena, who later became his service dog, after a veterinarian told him the dog had just weeks left {to live|to call home|to reside}.

Jeff De Young and Cena formed an unbreakable bond {after they were|once they were|when they were} paired in 2009 {based on|predicated on|centered on} their personalities and deployed to Afghanistan.

There, “Kid and Chicken”, as they were nicknamed, were in charge of walking in front of patrol units {in search of|searching for|looking for} improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
